MEET GLORIA, OUR NEW BABY GRAND!
Dave Holodiloff, mandolin, and Juneau Rowe on Gloria, our new baby grand!
Piano Karma at The PG Meetinghouse!
When we took over, we discussed a piano as a fun addition but didn’t know how or when we’d get to it.
In early 2024, Taylor - long-time shop regular, piano player and truck owner (!) - offered to locate, transport and set up a piano for us, because, as he said, “This place needs a piano!”
That’s how we got our first piano - a wonderful Wurlitzer Upright. Thank you Taylor!
Meet Gloria
By late ‘24 we were hosting Jazz regularly, and Chris Cochran (www.christopherpiano.com), piano tech and tuner extraordinaire, heard that “we had heavy cats playing here” and offered to keep an eye out for a nicer piano. Heavy Cats!! Three months later, we got the call: This 2005 Kimball La Petite Baby Grand was played, lovingly maintained and broken in just right at a music academy in Sunnyvale. Natalya Karamyan, founder and head of The Silicon Valley Second School, also took over The Gloria School of Music & Arts. She needed more room, so had to downsize some of Gloria’s Grands to Uprights. Chris told her about our story and support for live music, and Ms. Karamyan gifted it to him to bring to us!
We can’t thank Ms. Natalya & Chris enough for this gorgeous piano - officially nicknamed Gloria! - and for helping us bring more live music to The PG Meetinghouse!
One of our baristas claimed the wonderful Wurlitzer so it had a new home right away!
